Innovators from California and Texas have secured a patent for a pioneering blockchain system that enhances cryptographic key security, a critical advancement in protecting digital transactions.

Michael J. T. Chan, Sean R. Embry, Derek A. Chamorro, Anuj Kaul, Sahil Chadha, and Nikhil Firke have developed a "Traceable Key Blockchain Ledger."

It involves generating the first blockchain block for a cryptographic key, incorporating metadata about its origin.

The invention, detailed in a U.S. Patent & Trademark Office abstract, focuses on key management through a blockchain system.

Subsequently, a second block is created for the first transaction using the key, linked to the first block and modified to include transaction details.

This patent application number is 18219144, filed on 7 July 2023 and granted on 9 April 2024.
